1st item: EMERGENCY MEASURES FOR THE CLEANING OF THE RAILWAY NETWORK OF
The Council was briefed by the Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Railway
Mr Christos Papadimitriou on urgent issues
of the railway sector. On
“Regardless of the responsibility for cleaning and maintenance of the railways, Eodasaam has requested: ‘Regardless of the responsibility for cleaning and maintenance of the railways’. whether it belongs to OSE or the General Directorate of Forests or any other public authority
The responsible persons of the OSE in cooperation with the competent state authorities are invited to take the necessary measures to ensure that the
bodies to carry out an immediate, complete and effective control of the entire national forest.
the entire national railway network and clean up all areas of the railway network that are dangerous for the
safety of the railways from trees, branches and other possible debris.
The inspection and cleaning must take place as soon as possible and at the latest by 31/10/2024, and thereafter to be repeated at regular intervals and in particular
at least once every month.
The Vice-Chairman stated that under no circumstances did the recommendation issued by the Council of EODASAM for the urgent cleaning of the country’s railway line is not
is not an indictment of the OSE but the recommendation is addressed to all relevant bodiesand does not imply that the OSE is to blame for the current situation, and calls on all the relevant government agencies to cooperate in the direction of immediate cleaning of line.
Following communication with the OSE it was decided to schedule the next
meeting next week which the issue will be raised and
clean-up, which cannot be completed in the strict and very short
deadline of 31.10.2024.
The EODASAM board following the meeting will issue new minutes in
which will outline the actions decided upon and will immediately amend the
timetable, taking into account the practical difficulties of the project, which
and will publish it immediately.
